I was so excited when Dominique messaged me and asked me to photograph her maternity session! Dominique and I went to high school together, so I’ve known her for quite some time. We chose to photograph at Cox Arboretum to get some nice nature shots. She showed up beautiful as always, in two outfits that showed off her lovely baby bump! We did some lifestyle type portraits, as well as some posed. Her boyfriend, David, did a great job too! 😉 They are definitely a cute couple, and I can’t wait until baby comes on out!
I will admit, I am so far behind on blogging, it’s not even funny! At first I didn’t see the point of it, but I’m learning more and more that people love seeing the sessions I do and all the beautiful people I get to capture! So, especially during these chilly months, I’ll be catching up on my blogging with Throwback Thursdays, Way Back Wednesdays, and Flashback Fridays!
Today’s throwback is the Marlowe Family, whom I photographed in July of this year. Kara and I met when I was portfolio building and she was pregnant with her first son, Camdon. Her belly was so huge, I thought she was going to pop during our maternity session (haha!)! Even still, she was a beautiful young lady that was just completely glowing at the thought of having her first child.
Camdon just turned 4, and getting so big and handsome! He is just the sweetest little thing and has the most beautiful smile. Case, her second son, is much more mischievous and behind his little grin, you can tell he’s plotting something! I adore watching Kara’s facebook status updates about the adventures of her two little guys.
I love photographing her family. I can tell that there is an obvious love between she, Zach, and her two children. They give me hope that I might one day get married and have a relationship such as this! 😉
I hope you enjoy this post and it warms up your heart a little!
Rarely do we ever get the opportunity to photograph the wedding of a family! I, however, was blessed with this opportunity this month. To not only witness my only brother getting married, but to be a part of literally every aspect of it, was totally amazing. The wedding took place in the fabulous Adelphi, Maryland at the Adelphi Mill.
Jonathan and his lovely bride, Charissa, met at a party for a mutual friend, and after some time of dating, he finally decided to pop the question! With a lovely proposal with lots of tears and laughter, Charissa said yes!
They allowed me plenty time for portraits throughout the whole day, including while they were getting ready and exchanging their gifts. This was also my first-ever First Look! I always try to convince my brides and grooms to go with this option. It gives a real and true reaction the first time you see each other. Rarely will you get a groom the bursts into tears or jumps up and down when he sees you walking down the aisle, but you’d be surprised what you’ll get in private! Their first reactions were very touching.
Their ceremony was wonderful as well. All the decorations and lights came together beautifully, and the old mill gave the perfect rustic feel. It was great to see all the family and friends come together for this very special occasion. At the end of the evening, my brother and new sister made their grand exit. The sparklers didn’t last until the couple made it outside, but we were still there to cheer for them as they left. All in all, it was a fabulous evening!
