Never fear… I shoot in all weather conditions! Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays this photographer from the swift completion of her appointed shoot… or … something like that!!
Rain and umbrellas are always cool to shoot with. The reflections of the water always sparkle, and throwing in a bright colored umbrella can give your photographs a nice pop.
April was a pretty busy month for me! Wedding season started off with a bang with one wedding and two vow renewals. I love sharing special moments with the bride and groom and helping them to create memories that will last a lifetime.
I’m so excited for the weddings that I have coming up as well. I do still have quite a few openings, but they are filling up quickly, so if you know anyone that needs a wedding photographer, have them contact me!
It is also senior portrait time! College graduations have already started, and high school seniors are graduating this month and next! My senior portrait sessions are reasonably priced and you get way more variety than in a traditional studio.
I am also looking for senior reps for class of 2015. 2015 reps will still pay their sitting fee, but will get rep cards to show and pass out to others. For each client they bring me, they will earn free prints, with no limit to the amount of free prints! Feel free to message me for details and booking.
Mother’s Day is in May, so it only makes sense that the May special would revolve around Mother’s Day! All shoots involving mothers are $10 off. So, if you take pictures with your kids, or your mom, or your kids AND your mom, you will receive the special! This does also include maternity – can’t forget those moms-to-be!
This is the perfect time to do a generational shoot. They don’t have to be traditional or boring… my mother, son and I did a shoot in our boxing gear! I’m cheating a bit… including pictures from our Mother’s Day shoot, even though it technically wasn’t done in April. But, it will give you an idea of the fun you can have with a Mother’s Day shoot with your mum!
I also did some mother-daughter pin-up shoots in April, which turned out really cute! I found an awesome antique store out by the Dayton Mall and got tons of old props, including old suitcases and a couple phones! My son was pretty fascinated (mommy, where do you put the text message?) and the props look great. It helped that I had a few gorgeous models and makeup! (visit http://simplymakeupbyjessica.com for a great makeover). I couldn’t decide on just a couple, so you can view them below!
Lastly, I have gotten some new equipment and expanded my studio space a little, which makes it way nicer for more model and boudoir types. The purchasing of more lights gives a much more dynamic feel to your photographs and allows for more dramatic lighting and effects. Thanks to all who donated to my business, and there is still time to donate!
I look forward to adding more and more of this to my repertoire, and am always looking for people interested in boudoir! Pricing for those wanting to be boudoir models is extremely discounted right now. Message me more more details!
Thanks for reading the newsletter, and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Until next time,
